Light deflection — where it appears

The bending of a light ray by a gravitational field, 4GM/c²b at an impact parameter b in the weak field. It is twice what a Newtonian calculation gives, and because the amount falls with distance off axis rather than rising, it produces rings and pairs of images instead of a focus.
