Degeneracy pressure — where it appears

The pressure a confined gas of fermions exerts because no two may share a state, present at absolute zero and independent of temperature. In copper the corresponding energy is 7 electronvolts, equivalent to 81,000 kelvin, which is why a metal's electrons contribute so little to its heat capacity.
